    Going back to church
Well, I'm actually going back to church. This started because a friend of mine who goes to this church invited me to a New Year's Eve party the Young Adults Bible Study group was having. I went and I had a great time. So I decided to start going to the Sunday morning services. Since then, I've only missed once, and that was because I was visiting two friends in clovis that weekend.

Let me tell you, it's wonderful. It seems that ever since I've started tithing, I actually have money in my wallet. And this I give back to God. And then I get more. It's amazing.

The YABS group is amazing, too. We usually all go do something together and it usually lasts the entire day. It's great! Granted, they are mostly in their early to mid 20s, but I don't care. :D Well, except for one girl there, who is nearly 28. And they don't care that I'm 30. Good times had by all!

So on that up note, I'll close this. Bye!

    "anti-virus" scan
Just visited one of my regular websites, only to get a warning (from the webpage) that my system may be compromised and that I need to run an "antiviruses" (yes, anti-viruses) scan. So I said yes, knowing that since I'm running Linux (PCLinuxOS, to be exact), it was going to do squat. I watched as the website became an identical copy of WinXP Explorer window. However, a couple of things were wrong. First, the XP progress bar revealed itself smoothly, unlike the real thing, which reveals via parts of the rectangle. Second, it showed that it was "scanning" my drives and showing all these files with extensions like .dll, .exe, .ocx... etc... I just sat there, amused. That is, until it started getting pushy when I would close the dialog box tell me I was infected. and I think it tried multiple times to download a .exe file. I finally got it closed.

Now I'm thinking of all those poor people that would get hit with this and BELIEVE IT. And in case you are wondering, the site was wii.kombo.com. That is a legit site I've been going to for months. Yikes.

    HAM!!
Just got back from seeing "Ponyo". It is light and fluffy. And I love it. And the "dawwww" is... is.... gah...

As my friend put it, "It's like having a Pixie Stick Enima!"

But yes, I did enjoy it and if you get the chance to see it, do so.

    vacation!
I'm on vacation right now! I'm in Greeley, CO. We (the family and I) are going to be staying in Glenns Ferry, ID for about a week or so. That's where my sister's boyfriend lives. It's only 15 or 20 miles away from Mountain Home, ID. it's been 20 years this summer since I've been there. Will take a lot of pics! I'll also try to update this if I remember. Till next time!

    Inkscape
Ya know, once you start using it, Inkscape is really nifty.

Gotta do a project in Inkscape and it's due tomorrow. Done most of it, but still working on it. My main gripe is importing it into Illustrator. Apparently Inkscape's default margins are different than Illustrator's. *Sigh*

Recently got FFIV for the DS and I was doing fine. Until I got to the Tower of Zot. and the icehounds proceeded to zot me. Icestorm. brrr!!! I think I do have a strategy, though. I can have Cid use lullaby (yes, I gave it to him) and they are susceptible to sleep. Then i could use firaga. But still, that's a lot of ethers I'm gonna have to burn thru for Tellah... If anybody else has better and/or different strategies, lay them on me! FYI, my levels are between 28-31, I believe.

    PCLinux Classroom Demonstration
In mere moments, I will show my computer hardware and software class the wonders of .... PCLinuxOS!!! Mwahahhahaa!!!!!

I'll let you know how it goes.

    Edit Oct. 21 @ 8:19 AM

Well, I gave the presentation with less time than I thought I had, so the only really good thing I was able to show them was Compiz. And yes, they loved the cube. ;D The instructor and I talked about open source vs. closed source and also the fact that Linux is free. Also discussed that with free versions (as opposed to paid for versions, like Red Hat), there is no phone support. But then I mentioned that a lot of distros (and I mentioned PCLinuxOS specifically!) have great community support. And that's about it. I'd give the whole presentation a 7 out of 10.

    alcohol makes people.... interesting.
Just came in from talking to my neighbor that is one floor below me and without going into personal details, she asked my a question, which I answered honestly. She apologized for acting a bit loopy as she had finished off one bottle of Jose Cuerva and some other small bottles of alcohol. She then procedded to rant about her sister's boyfriend and such. At this point, I politely excused myself and was reminded why I will never get drunk (or touch alcohol) in my life. And now it's time to go to bed.

    Edit 9-23 11:04 PM

Hulu is now showing the first 21 episodes of Naruto. And it's subbed! :D They plan on getting more subs and dubs of Naruto. They are also showing Mushi-Shi and Death Note. Don't know if they are subbed and/or dubbed.
